Carbon Farmers of America are proud to offer a single, effective product for sale: Carbon Sinks.

A Carbon sink represents one ton of atmospheric carbon dioxide that has been transformed, via photosynthesis and decay, into roughly half of a ton of soil organic matter. 

The work of increasing soil organic matter is best understood as the work of bringing soils back to life. An investment in Carbon Sinks is a practical and visionary investment in the living topsoil that sustains us all. Living topsoil is the inescapable foundation of human security and prosperity.

In addition to reversing global warming, Carbon Sinks have many other benefits.Every Carbon Sink also represents:

• Increased depth, health and productivity of topsoil. A 1% increase in organic matter often yields a 12% increase in productivity.
• Solar food, grown with few fossil fuel inputs. Grassfarming is farming with minimal mechanical intervention. Livestock harvest much of their own feed and increase soil fertility as they do it. Soil rich in organic matter grows food without fossil-fuel derived chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides.
• Nutrient dense food and excellent health for our families.
• Strong immune systems and biosecurity…humus rich soil confers immunity to plants and the animals and people eating those plants.
• Clean waters and reduction of droughts and floods. Living topsoil holds and purifies water.

The price of one Carbon Sink is $25. A breakdown of what that money will accomplish follows:

• The Carbon Farmer who has pulled a ton of CO2 out of the atmosphere and into his or her soils will receive $19.
• Carbon Farmers of America, LLC will use $1 for administration and related expenses.
• $5 will go toward equipping, training, monitoring and consulting existing and new Carbon Farmers.

Purchase Carbon Sinks

To stabilize our climate, we must stop increasing the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. In other words, annual emissions of greenhouse gases will need to be balanced by biological and geological sequestration of greenhouse gases.

Beyond that, we also need to reduce the current overload C02 from 390 parts per million (ppm) to under 280 ppm.

Both of these challenges are well within humanity’s means.

Therefore, we encourage our customers to adopt practices and a way of life that minimize greenhouse gas emissions.

For the remaining emissions, we offer Carbon Sinks as a way to “offset” the emissions by transforming C02 into soil organic matter. This will qualify an individual, family or company, for instance, as "carbon neutral."

Further, recognizing the need to reduce the “legacy load” of greenhouse gases, we encourage those with the means to invest in additional Carbon Sinks in order to actually reduce atmospheric concentrations of CO2. This makes it possible to achieve the important work of becoming “carbon positive.”

There is no minimum or maximum amount of Carbon Sinks that can be purchased.

If you want to support the work of Carbon Farmers of America, but cannot afford a Carbon Sink Package, buy only as many Carbon Sinks as you are able.

Recognize that any investment in Carbon Sinks is a real investment in launching and sustaining a worldwide movement to stabilize climate and build security and wealth through living topsoil. The more people that invest, and the larger their investment, the faster Carbon Farmers of America will be able to train, equip, monitor and pay Carbon Farmers to get the job done.

Whichever Carbon Sink Package you choose to purchase, we will send you a letter and certificate describing your investment in topsoil formation and climate stabilization. We will also keep you updated with a regular newsletter detailing our activities and accomplishments.
