It is an effective platform to get minimum support price for products, says Kakani Govardhan Reddy

Agriculture, Marketing and Food Processing Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy said the e-farm marketplace set up for online sales is an effective platform for farmers to get a minimum support price for their products.

Mr. Govardhan Reddy was speaking after the inauguration of a workshop organized by the Andhra Pradesh Farmers e-Vikraya Corporation Limited (APFEVCL) for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Aggregators, Farmers, Buyers and the bankers here on Saturday.

Mr Govardhan Reddy said the government was trying to get the best price for farmers. He said the state is focusing on providing quality seeds and pesticides through Rythu Bharosa Kendras, bank loans, tools at subsidized prices and an e-farm platform.

He said the e-farm platform connects farmers and buyers without any intermediaries. So far, ₹17.06 crore of products have been sold on the e-farm platform, and farmers have gotten the best price.

Chief Government Secretary (Agricultural Marketing) Chiranjeevi Chowdary said the e-farm helps farmers connect with buyers across the country and every transaction is transparent.

Agricultural Marketing Commissioner and Chairman of APFEVCL, PS Pradyumna, said buyers would pay the amount on the same day of purchase at the e-farm market and then to the farmer in a transparent manner.
