Hanamconda: The incumbent TRS Chairman and Minister, KT Rama Rao, has called on party cadres to brief the people on the unprecedented developments made during the seven and a half year rule of the party in the new state of Telangana. Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who had no money, muscle or community power when he embarked on the fight for a separate state in 2001, could achieve Telangana statehood at the peril of his life and withstanding many hardships. “We must be disturbed by the false and wicked campaign unleashed by the BJP and the Congress parties, because our development speaks volumes about our commitment to the state. All we have to do is explain to the people what the condition of the state was like before the formation of the state and after the formation of the state,” Rao said.
Addressing a meeting of party workers here on Wednesday, Rao launched a scathing attack on BJP leaders and warned them that they might also use vulgar language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi or any other leader. “But we follow decency and decorum,” Rao said, and strongly objected to the cheap language used by BJP MPs Bandi Sajay, Arvind and others. KT Rama Rao said it was time to teach a proper lesson to those who resorted to personal attacks using objectionable and cheap words against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who made the decades-old dream come true of the Telangana people.
Rama Rao was careful to explain how Telangana was neglected by the NDA government led by Narendra Modi, and even attempted to ‘kill’ the newly born state. He said not even a single medical school or IIM or IIT and other central educational institutions have been sanctioned by the Modi government in the past seven and a half years. “Furthermore, the Modi government has failed to deliver on its promises including the establishment of a coach factory in Kazipet, a steel factory in Bayyaram and the Mulugu Tribal University made in the AP Reorganization Act. , 2014”.
He branded the BJP MPs as spineless people who did nothing for the state except making offensive comments about Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao with the intention of misleading the people. He also blamed TPCC chairman Revanth Reddy for his comments about the chief minister and other TRS leaders. He said there was so much time to go to the general elections and asked the party leaders and the workers to go to the people and explain the development works like the irrigation projects, the social protection and farmer support programs.
Referring to the ceding of funds to the state of Telangana, KT Rama Rao said the people of Telangana paid Rs 3, 65, 797 crore to the Center in the form of different taxes. “But Telangana has only received 1.68, 647 crore so far,” he said and dared to step down as minister, if he was found to be wrong. “If I am wrong, I will resign from the post of minister and continue as an MP. I challenge the BJP leaders to prove me wrong,” he thundered. Meanwhile, MPs Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and Aroori Ramesh supported the party district chairpersons of Hanamkonda and Warangal respectively at the meeting.
