Madhya Pradesh: Harassed by loan sharks, Sagar farmer kills himself | Bhopal News

BHOPAL: Fed up with loan shark harassment, a farmer has committed suicide in Sagar district of Madhya district of Madhya Pradesh, after being harassed over his land registration papers and tractor.
The deceased has been identified as Dinesh Yadav, 33, a resident of Palikheda village who also recorded a video addressed to his son before taking the extreme step.
In the impassioned video, Dinesh is seen saying he was ending his life because his cadastral documents and tractor papers were not returned even after he repaid the borrowed money. A visibly shaken in tears Dinesh, in his last message said that now he will not return. He left a message for his son asking him to take care of his mother and sister.
The family of the deceased demands that the accused be prosecuted
He is survived by his wife and two children aged 11 and 10. Locals said Dinesh had mortgaged his tractor with one Narayan Singh Yadav.
Despite reimbursing the borrowed money, he did not return his tractor’s registration book. Police said it was also discovered that he had sold an acre and a half of his ancestral land to Mohar Singh Yadav, Jaisingh and Gauri from the village in January.
He had then paid five lakh rupees to redeem this land, but even after giving the money, the land was not registered in his name. The family of the deceased demanded that the accused be prosecuted. After the autopsy, Dinesh Yadav was cremated on Wednesday.
His brother tweeted at Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Home Minister Narottam Mishra, demanding action against the accused.
