SBI General launches massive awareness campaign and supports farming communities in 5 states


SBI General, one of India’s leading general insurance companies, implemented its massive awareness campaign and farmer workshops to celebrate ‘Crop Insurance Week’ under the umbrella of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the farming communities. As part of this campaign, SBI undertook various activities in 5 states, namely Rajasthan, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Assam.

During Crop Insurance Awareness Week, SBI General organized field activities to educate farmers to protect their crops, prevent seeding / planting risks, cover post-harvest losses and secure throughout the culture cycle. The company has defined several activities such as the activation of vans, farmer workshops and other field visibility activities to spread awareness in these selected states.

The SBI General has started registering farmers to ensure their agricultural production in each state with the customization of additional covers according to climatic conditions. It supplies hail blankets in Karnataka for mango, pomegranate, chili, pepper, papaya, ginger and sour lime crops, and for apple trees in Himachal Pradesh. The awareness campaign and workshops will help educate farmers and ensure maximum enrollment at Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana during this crop insurance week.
